Falmouth awarded $21,482 through the Massachusetts Renewable Energy Trust’s Clean Energy Choice Program

Final Clean Energy Choice® Matching Funds To Be Disbursed in February 2010
Town of Falmouth, Mass. Grant of $21,482.82 The Trust is providing the Town of Falmouth with a Clean Energy Choice grant of $21,482.82 for two Town renewable energy projects.  From October 2004 through June 2009, Clean Energy Choice provided matching grants in proportion to voluntary contributions for renewable energy made by Falmouth residents.  Falmouth will receive:

  • $10,465 to purchase three Big Belly Solar Trash Compaction Systems. These units are powered by solar photovoltaic technology and will help Falmouth reduce trash collections, reduce litter and generally improve the Town’s waste management operations.
  • $11,017.82 for the salary of an Energy Coordinator to work on a variety of renewable energy projects throughout the Town. The Energy Coordinator’s responsibilities will include implementing the Town’s Climate Action Plan, developing energy educational programs, and implementing an Energy Information Reporting System with DOER.
